A HISTORY OF INNOVATION

Today, Rockland Manufacturing is recognized as an industry leader known for superior quality, unmatched reliability, and innovative solutions. But how did we get here?

It started in the late 1940s when an equipment salesman named Tom Billings couldn’t find a land-clearing rake that would last. So in 1951, he built the first Rockland RF-3 behind a gas station in Massachusetts, where he met our original owner, Sam Pratt, father of current president Bo Pratt. With reversible teeth and a lifetime warranty, the attachment became an instant hit. Tom quickly sold the first one, followed by many more.

YESTERDAY, TODAY, TOMORROW

In 1953, Rockland Manufacturing was born. Fast forward seven decades after our founding, and we’re still building attachments with the same goals in mind: To provide quality products at a fair price. And to help our customers be as productive as possible.

Over the years, we’ve achieved a number of impressive milestones. Rockland Manufacturing designed and built the first wheel loader rock bucket and the world’s largest dozer blade. We also pioneered ideas that have since become industry norms, including horizontal wear strips on excavator buckets, high-strength USA steel in place of cast lips, and hydraulic thumbs.

Rockland Manufacturing offers over 250 products and holds over 40 patents. Our attachments are manufactured out of two plants in Pennsylvania and one in Texas, and sold at over 2,000 dealerships nationwide. We offer the industry’s best warranties and guarantee our ship dates.
